What are the applications of diamond powder

As a kind of super hard abrasive, diamond powder has extremely superior grinding ability, which has been paid more and more attention by developed countries. The grinding ability of diamond powder includes the grinding ability of the workpiece and its wear resistance and anti-grinding ability, which depends on its microhardness, particle size, strength, particle shape, thermal stability and chemical stability.
Generally speaking, the application of diamond powder as an abrasive has three aspects:
(1) used for manufacturing resin bonding tools, metal bonding tools and electroplating tools;
(2) used for fine grinding or polishing of various precision components in industry, science and medicine;
(3) used as fine abrasive for mold processing, baoyu polishing processing, gem bearing processing and manufacturing.
In addition to being used as abrasive material, diamond powder is also used as functional material. For example, it USES its thermal and electrical properties. By mixing diamond powder into thermosetting resin polymer, cellulose, phenolic resin or ceramic sheet, a new material with higher thermal conductivity and lower thermal expansion can be prepared. By mixing diamond powder into metal sheet, such as nickel sheet or stainless steel sheet, a new sheet material with high thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion and light weight can be made.
In terms of the form of diamond used as abrasive material, according to the figures published by relevant data, more than 60% of the diamond powder consumed in the world’s industry is used to make diamond gypsum, diamond powder mixture and diamond powder grinding liquid.
